Grenfell Tower – Studio E Architects statement

We are deeply shocked and distressed over news of the devastating fire at Grenfell Tower.

Our thoughts are with those that have been affected by this tragic incident, together with all of their relatives and friends.

It would be inappropriate for us to comment or speculate on events on Wednesday morning. We will be available to assist the relevant authorities as and when we are required.

Our website was temporarily shut down yesterday as a result of the number of requests received.

Studio E Architects Appointed for a New School in Bangladesh

Exciting times lie ahead as Studio E Architects has been commissioned by the Bangladesh based STS Group to design a new Delhi Public School on a riverside site in Purbachal, Dhaka.

Just under 6000 Bangladeshi pupils, from Kindergarten to Sixth Form, are to be provided with a state of the art, 35,000m2 facility.  Designs have commenced on an integrated, clustered learning community – schools within schools with large hub spaces and playgrounds “in the sky.”

The practice is working with Max Fordham to develop environmental strategies and deal with the climate and site related challenges.

City Academy Hackney’s 6th formers moved into their new dedicated centre on 31st October. A seamless extension of the original award winning building, the new 540m2 wing provides them with a spacious common room and study spaces arranged over a first and second floor. A cluster of mature plane trees, a feature of the site, provides a leafy context for this colourful yellow and blue addition.

Proposals for a new multi-purpose hall and music teaching facilities have been given the green light by Southwark Planners. Music performances will be possible for audiences of up to 500 and JAGS will at long last be able to assemble in its full 1,000 girl complement. The designs include a foyer that doubles as a new main school entrance and the facilities combine with an existing dining hall to create an academic courtyard – a new social heart for the school.
