The design of a permanent exhibition in the cloisters of Durham Cathedral, a World Heritage Site. The unique collection of artefacts relating to the life and death of St Cuthbert – the centrepiece is his beautifully carved coffin – and the outstanding Cathedral Treasury collection were displayed to best advantage by the sensitive and innovative use of glass and light.
In order to accommodate the exhibition an air treatment system was installed and the cloisters reconfigured and conserved.
