The Resource Park at Hespin Wood near Carlisle in Cumbria incorporates a state of the art recycling plant and associated facilities including a recyclate storage building, a gatehouse/weighbridge control building, and a two storey administration building. The ITS facility employs a Mechanical Biological Treatment MBT) process to treat 75,000 tonnes of ‘black bag’ waste a year.
The Park forms part of Shanks proposals to redirect waste from landfill and improve recycling as part of their 25 year waste management contract with the County.
