The Jenkins Lane Waste Management Facility sited in Beckton consists of a series of buildings of varying scales and uses, including state of the art recycling facilities together with supporting offices and a visitor and education centre. A veil of metal cladding has been employed as a common architectural treatment to create a visually unified ‘family’ of buildings and echoes the aesthetic developed for its sister site at Frog Island.
