Studio E Architects was founded with the objective of addressing issues concerning what has now come to be known as sustainable development. We wanted to do this without sacrificing the traditional architectural verities: commodity, firmness and delight. At the time, energy conservation was associated with discontinuity of oil supply caused by conflict, and damage to the natural environment with misuse of insecticides. The notion of a ‘sustainable’ community had yet to be conceived.
Through our pioneering projects, research and development, advice and promotional activities, Studio E has contributed significantly over the last 15 years to ensuring that sustainable principles are formulated and acted upon in the construction industry.
