The Tennis pavilion provides club and changing facilities for the eight tennis courts located at the southern end of Burgess Park, six of which were constructed concurrently with the pavilion. The building mediates between the open landscape of the reclaimed park and the Regency formality of Addision Square, and the construction area in which it sits. Pivoted metal panels act as both sun shades and security shutters.
The tennis pavilion is a gem of a building. It will more than meet the needs of Burgess Park’s growing tennis community; both functionally and aspirationally. Jon Sheaff London Borough of Southwark Public Realm Manager
