The preparation of a masterplan and scheme designs for a music school, boarding house accommodation and sports changing rooms for the City of London Freemen’s School to cover the upgrading and growing of their facilities over the next 20 years.
At the heart of the campus is the original Grade II* Listed eighteenth century mansion. The renovation and redeployment of uses in the building is an early phase of the masterplan. The first phase provides for a new music school, new boarding, sports facilities and landscaped areas.
The Masterplan was carried out in close consultation with The City of London and the Freemen’s School and the design was refined through public consultation, as well as collaboration with English Heritage and the Council’s Planning Department.
The Masterplan provides a strategic overview and road map for the development of the Ashtead Park site… and considers the route to reaching our long term aims in a sustainable and cost effective manner. The consultants have provided an imaginative concept and plan which allows us to meet our goals. Philip McDonald, Headmaster
