A new one form entry primary school and a new two form entry primary school earmarked by the Council as flagship exemplars of latest thought in educational building design. The designs sought to break down boundaries between the building and outside areas, treating internal and external spaces as one fully integrated learning environment. The projects also embrace an innovative and fully value engineered sustainable environmental agenda with an emphasis on effective natural daylighting and ventilation, incorporating such elements as a sedum roof, photovoltaic installations and grey water utilisation.
